The BillyChip was set up in 2018 to continue the legacy of a twenty-year-old ambulance driver from Bristol. After helping support the homeless at Christmas, Billy felt disheartened at how little support the general public gave to local homeless people. Most people are apprehensive to give money directly to homeless people because it’s not possible to know how a donation is spent.
I'm sure you have the same reaction as many others when you see a homeless person on the street. You want to help them but are hesitant to give them money as you may be worried they will spend on something other than food and drink.
This is where BillyChip comes in
You simply buy a BillyChip from selected outlets and give these to a homeless person who can then exchange them in selected outlets for some much needed food or a hot drink.
Currently, BillyChip is in a few areas around the UK but are looking for more outlets to sell and accept these BillyChips
